About the Founder
Sunita Sachin Nagre has been working on tribal padas in many parts of Maharashtra for the last ten years through her Abhishek Educational and Social Organization. The nature of the work is mainly education and health. That is, measures are taken to strengthen secondary education in rural areas. In comparison, measures are not taken on tribal padas. Sunita Nagre is working to ensure that the same measures are taken promptly. From starting a school in a tribal pada, from providing teachers there to changing the mindset of the parents to sending their children to school, Nagre has to fulfill many such responsibilities. Out of the total four and a half thousand padas in Maharashtra, Sunita is in touch with 127 tribal padas around Mumbai, 300 around Nashik and more than 100 around Palghar. Out of these, citizens have taken up the role of working full-time on about 250 padas. And her work is going on from there. It is necessary to create awareness among the parents about education. Keeping this issue in mind, Sunita has worked on all these padas. There should be a change in the mindset of the parents there. Many measures have been taken for this. While doing all this work, they get help from the administration, but this work is not theirs. Sunita, however, has continued her efforts to ensure that education in the villages is successful without expecting anyone’s help. Initially, this whole time was difficult. That is, there was no response from the people. But gradually, when we solved the basic needs of the people , Sunita was saying that for public education, we started responding to these villages.
Initially, when we used to go to some tribal villages, there were many stories that the people there did not want to respond. So what are the basic needs of the people there, where the government does not reach. What kind of work is there that is stopped? Sunita paid attention to many small works in those villages, from which the people there started trusting her. And then from that trust, her main agenda. It became. She solved many issues of education and health. What is the main work in the village? There is no hospital in the village. There are no roads in the villages. The drinking water situation is bad. People do not have the mentality to hold a Gram Sabha. It is a small school, they do not have any mentality regarding adding a new room or new materials or other things. As all this happened continuously, all this poverty in that area was felt, and Sunita took the initiative to remove it. Through which she came in contact with those Padis.
